Marketing Specialist

This is a new position with the opportunity to work directly with the Marketing Director to support the marketing and sales teams in increasing brand awareness and social media presence as we seek to double our company revenue and continue to rapidly grow the business. The candidate does not need previous call center experience. The Outsource Consultants Process (OCP) is defined and our team is in need of an enthusiastic, goal driven Marketing Specialist to contribute to our company’s fast growth!

Position Title: Marketing Specialist
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Director
Location: Saint Louis Park, MN
Exempt Status: Full Time, Exempt
Pay: $50,000-$65,000 DOQ starting salary plus Bonus

Position Overview: The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the creation and deployment of marketing initiatives including blogging, social media, email, and website content. This individual will serve as the point person for all copywriting needs, develop and deploy our social media strategy, plan and execute email blasts, and support other marketing efforts as needed. This individual will also be tasked with maintaining awareness of industry news, watching for emerging trends, and developing strategies to establish thought leadership for our brand. To be successful in this role, you must have exceptional writing skills, a passion for creativity, strong attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of marketing concepts.

MARKETING SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES

50% Writing:

  • Plan, research, write, and edit blog posts for the Outsource Consultants website to support SEO and/or thought leadership efforts.
  • Research and write SEO-friendly, informational copy for our websites.
  • Plan and write copy for marketing email communications.
  • Plan, research, and write copy for marketing and sales collateral.
  • Write copy for text and display ads.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to create effective outreach messaging strategies.
  • Manage the review and approval process for all writing initiatives.

20% Social Media Management:

  • Maintain brand standards across all social media properties and interactions.
  • Plan, research, write, and deploy posts for brand social media accounts.
  • Create graphics to accompany posts using the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Interact with commenters and other profiles through brand social media accounts.
  • Find and share relevant content from industry thought leaders and individuals.
  • Research social media trends and new features to ensure Outsource Consultants is staying current, and train the team as needed.
  • Manage paid social media campaigns and boosted/promoted posts.
  • Provide KPI reporting on all social media initiatives.

15% Strategy & Research:

  • Maintain brand standards across all social media properties and interactions.
  • Plan, research, write, and deploy posts for brand social media accounts.
  • Create graphics to accompany posts using the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Interact with commenters and other profiles through brand social media accounts.
  • Find and share relevant content from industry thought leaders and individuals.
  • Research social media trends and new features to ensure Outsource Consultants is staying current, and train the team as needed.
  • Manage paid social media campaigns and boosted/promoted posts.
  • Provide KPI reporting on all social media initiatives.

15% General Marketing Support:

  • Provide support as needed for other marketing initiatives, including SEO, PPC, CRO, website management, promotional materials, and conference attendance.

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience researching, writing, and editing content in a professional setting.
  • Experience with WordPress or a similar CMS.
  • Experience with an email marketing platform like Hubspot.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products.
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and accountability
  • Collegiate level skill set demonstrated in proofreading, spelling, grammar and overall proficiency in business professional listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced understanding of social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on a professional marketing team.
  • Experience with graphic design tools like Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with web analytics tools like Google Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of SEO concepts and ranking factors.
  • Experience writing for sales departments.

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, and walking. A moderate level of bending and lifting may be required up to 25 pounds.
